Bartlett Loft Towns
A low early-twentieth-century workshop building on a residential side street west of Dufferin, cut into thirteen multi-level lofts in the mid-1980s.
Overview & history
The timber-framed building dates to between 1903 and 1910, and saw twine production, automotive repair and fishing tackle manufacture. Allan D. Gordon Associates converted it in 1984 or 1985, one of the earlier industrial conversions in the city.
There are thirteen units over three storeys, most running through all three levels rather than sitting on one floor. Reported sizes fall between 1,350 and 1,600 square feet. Units have exposed brick, wood-burning fireplaces and private cedar rooftop terraces.
