A 1913 printing factory on the Carlaw industrial strip, converted to condominiums in 2010 with a new eight-storey glass tower and townhouses built behind and beside it.
Overview & history
The building was put up in 1913 for the presses of Rolph-Clark-Stone, a lithography and label printer, with a sawtooth roof for north light and a rail spur at the rear. The conversion completed in 2010 kept the three-storey factory and added an eight-storey glass tower.
Stock is not uniform, since three buildings share one corporation. Factory lofts include two-storey plans with the sawtooth skylights carried into the ceiling; tower units are conventional flats. Sizes run 450 to 1,570 square feet.
