Sorauren Lofts
A 1908 ball-bearing factory facing Sorauren Park, and one of Toronto's earliest loft conversions.
Overview & history
The Chapman Double Ball Bearing Company built and occupied the building. The conversion kept timber posts and beams, exposed brick and wood and metal ceilings reported at 12 to 15 feet, with steel-framed mezzanines inside the suites.
The 48 suites sit on two storeys, and ground-floor units open onto patios facing the park. Almost everything that trades is a one-bedroom or one-bedroom plus den.
