Overview & history
The building went up in 1915 in the King-Spadina industrial district. It is reported to have housed William Croft and Sons Ltd., a wholesaler of fishing tackle and smallwares, and was later occupied by a conveyor-belt maker whose Monarch name stuck to the building.
Converted at the end of the 1990s, the 34 units keep exposed wood columns and ceilings, exposed brick and large panelled windows, with roughly ten-foot ceilings. Ground-floor and penthouse suites have two-storey layouts and terraces.
